Lynne Cherry is the author and illustrator of over thirty award-winning books for children. Her best-selling books such as The Great Kapok Tree and A River Ran Wild teach children a respect for the earth, have sold over a million copies and are translated into many languages.
Lynne is also a filmmaker and has produced and directed seven short movies, Young Voices on Climate Change, that tell the stories of young people who have reduced the carbon footprint of their homes, schools, communities and states. Two of these movies screened at The American Museum of Natural History during their climate exhibit and at the UN IPCC Climate Talks (COP15) in Copenhagen in December 2009.
Lynne lectures widely—and passionately--about how children can make a difference: If they feel strongly about something, they can change the world. As 14-year-old Alec Loorz says in her movie Kids-vs-Global-Warming says, "Kids have power!" And 13 year old Shannon McComb says, ‘if you adults won’t do something about global warming, we kids are going to take the reins.” Lynne hopes to empower youth through her books and through the Young Voices on Climate Change Films. Lynne emphasizes to educators how using nature and the environment to integrate curriculum makes a child’s learning relevant. Her books were inspired by her own deep reverence for the natural world.

Calliope Pettis is a classically trained vocalist and self-taught instrumentalist. Her passion for performing arts was ignited the first time she stepped on stage as a toddler in Panama City, Florida. Her early experiences in musicals and theatrical improvisation troupes lend themselves to her presentation of original music- as she whimsically moves about the stage, it's plain to see that her inner child is alive and well.
From guitar and mandolin to ukulele and a simple Looper pedal; Calliope's style is as imaginatively enigmatic as a child left alone with a pot of coffee, a 120 pack of crayons and a notion that there is no right or wrong way to create. She plays well with others and wants the whole world to know that "if you can speak you can sing, and if singing brings you joy, you should sing daily!"

A Montgomery native, India Wilson’s love of art started at a very young age as she was constantly drawing, painting, and trying new crafts throughout her childhood. She developed and nurtured her interests by integrating art into her formal education where she attended Booker T. Washington Magnet High School and became an award-winning artist. As a student within the Visual Arts magnet, she mastered everything from drawing in charcoal and graphite, and painting in acrylics, oils and watercolors to printmaking and sculpture. Upon graduating high school, India was inspired to earn a degree in finance.
Though enthralled in a corporate career post-graduation, India continued strengthening her artist skill set.
India recently decided to pursue her artwork full-time while focusing on her volunteer efforts in the community. She specializes in murals, portraits and enjoys painting with others via her collaborative painting experiences. Her latest project was, The Montgomery Book Bench Project, commissioned by the city of Montgomery. Ultimately, she hopes to not only become a full-time professional artist and creator, but she also aspires to open her own studio to help others in the creation of their own arts, projects, and serve as a consultant to those in need of artists for their business ventures. India’s a proud member of
