Centaurs were Greek mythological creatures which were half man and half horse.

Baskets of Stone
The baskets containing fruits and vegetables are scattered throughout the gardens. They were carved from soft vicenza stone by apprentice sculptors as a learning exercise before being allowed to work in a more difficult and costly material, such as marble. Probably done in Italy during the 1930’s, each basket is slightly different from the others.
